HotPV™ inverter.
Leading the way in off-grid solar hot water.
Downsize your power bill.
A big chunk of your power bill is usually from heating your water. Have a read and see how we came up with our unique and patented system to cut down your power bill and use your roof to do the work.
Why our inverters are the best for solar hot water.
A hot water cylinder draws a fixed rate of power to heat the water. It will draw from both the regular solar PV (photovoltaic) system and the grid to make up the power it needs to heat the water. For example: a 3 kW water cylinder will need to draw 3 kW of power to heat the water.
Every time your cylinder is on, and your solar PV system isn’t producing 3 kW, it will draw the difference from the grid. This can happen at any time of the day.
For example, during parts of the day, such as the early morning, the sunlight intensity is only enough to generate maybe 10% of what it takes to drive your cylinder’s element. So if your cylinder turns on at that time, a conventional solar PV system can only supply a small amount of power generated from the solar system, the rest of the power coming from the grid.
So essentially, only 10% of your hot water was heated by your system!
This is not solar water heating…
So we designed something great…
To ensure your solar system’s energy is put to good use in your home, we designed and patented the Hot PV™ inverter to only use the power generated from your solar system.
No other system does this.
With one of our Hot PV™ systems installed, you can sit back and relax, knowing your hot water is 100% solar!
When you export power into the grid, your power company may pay you around 7 cents per kWh (kilowatt hour) of exported power.
But if you look on your power bill, you may be paying 19 to 40 cents per kWh.
Our unique patented VOV™ Variable Output Voltage configuration incorporated into the Hot PV™ inverter means the element in your hot water cylinder draws energy, but at no fixed voltage.
In this way, your water can be heated without drawing from the grid.
So say goodbye to grid-powered hot water!
You cylinder’s element power follows the solar power generation curve.
